Trees For Life provides education and opportunities for people to do something practical to improve their local natural environment

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.

Our landscape has its own unique beauty and its future relies on all of us. Without native vegetation we lose our connection with the past, our cultural and natural heritage and our local identity.

Our members, volunteers & donors across Australia have contributed in helping us achieve remarkable success in helping to revegetate and conserve our natural environment.

How are donated funds used?

Funds are used to continue revegetation works around South Australia and in the conservation of remnant vegetation.

  • Since 1981 over 29 million native seedlings have been grown to plant on cleared land
  • Help contribute to the cost of materials for over 1200 volunteers to grow around 1 million seedlings annually
  • The direct seeding of native species on 3,500 hectares of rural land
  • Collection of provenance seed for The Tree Scheme, Direct Seeding and Carbon plantings
  • Subsidising the planting of 98,000 trees and shrubs to absorb and offset carbon emissions
  • Equip and train volunteers in the removal of noxious weeds, promoting natural recovery on 4,500 hectares of native vegetation that has never been cleared

Our volunteers donate $6 million of their time annually
