The Outback Loop® - Birdsville and Innamincka Hotels, believe that they have a responsibility to care for and protect the environment in which they operate.

They do this by striving to minimise the impact of their tourism operations by committing to wise and sustainable environmental policies such as reducing, reusing and recycling across all business activities.

This is done by:

  • Adopting the highest environmental standards in all areas of operation and continually seeking to improve environmental performance
  • Assessing business activities regularly and identifying areas where impacts can be minimised
  • Reducing waste
  • Reducing water consumption
  • Reducing energy
  • Purchasing sustainable products
  • Educating and engaging staff in environmental practice and making them a part of the solution
  • Reducing environmental risks and safety hazards for employees
  • Continually assessing the environmental impact of The Outback Loop® operation

The Outback Loop will do this by:

  • Promoting Trees For Life at major events such as the Birdsville Races and Taste Innamincka
  • Donating a percentage of sales profit to Trees For Life to assist with revegetation projects
  • Encouraging major suppliers to assist/donate or match our donation
  • Displaying Trees For Life promotional material in our Hotels
  • Supporting Trees For Life in their fundraising efforts such as Lottery Prizes and through the upcoming Equine Race Event

Business partners and members of the wider community are invited to join in their endeavours.
