ETSA Utilities sponsor the printing of the Growers Handbook

While a relationship with trees isn’t something you would necessarily expect a power company to have, a core part of ETSA Utilities’ business is to keep vegetation clear of powerlines. This includes vegetation control for storm and bushfire management to ensure during extreme weather conditions power supplies are not threatened with falling timbers and branches. While they are required by law to trim trees, they also wanted to support the growing of new trees, hence the long-term partnership with TFL.

Each year over 1000 volunteer growers regularly refer to the ‘grower’s bible’…the Trees For Life Growers Handbook. This handbook was a highly sought after publication but producing copies to give away was beyond the limited funds available.

ETSA Utilities was secured as the naming right sponsor of the booklet and has continued to fund this publication ever since. The handbook is a vital tool for all Tree Scheme volunteer growers, and each year over 1000 individuals receive a copy to assist them in the growing process of local native seedlings. The booklet gives step by step instruction of how to prepare, sow, care and nurture the seedlings being grown for landholders across the state.

ETSA Utilities has a commitment to our environment, and has implemented a number of initiatives across the business to reduce their impact, such as the purchase of 3 of the very first, fully electric, zero emission vehicles released by Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd.

ETSA Utilities are proud to support the wonderful efforts of Trees For Life’s volunteers across South Australia.
