From the low rainfall Murray Mallee through to the Mt Lofty Ranges, Trees For Life matches its equipment, species selection and techniques to your site .
Large scale revegetation work can be provided through the Direct Seeding program to support the remaining bushland remnants before they fall below levels that can ever be recovered

Trees For Life’s Direct Seeding strategy is to address complete revegetation by first introducing dominant species to each revegetation site.

The aim is to then create a suitable environment to allow tubestock to be planted in following years, for bird and wind-carried seed to thrive, thus widening the species mix and moving towards an ecologically sound plant community.
The Direct Seeding program is run by David Hein, who has direct seeding experience since 1987 in lower rainfall areas. Direct seeding offers a limited range of species in most (but not all) conditions, and can be used on a very large scale
The combination of Direct Seeding and tubestock that is provided the following year to enhance the value of the direct seeding at no extra charge. This tube stock supplied through the Tree Scheme provides species diversity and broad scale revegetation. This is critical, as many areas of South Australia contain less than 2% natural vegetation, with much of this contained in Conservation Reserves or in Heritage Agreement areas.
Bush For Life is acting in as many of these areas as possible, providing some intervention on remnant bushland, but for many species, extinction is only a matter of time.
