Option 2 - volunteer Grown

Step 1: Join Trees For Life as a full financial member

Step 2: Request an order form if you have not received one automatically

Step 3: Place your order and pay your Material and Supply Fee and any outstanding membership fees between 1 May and 31 July

Step 4: You can request a volunteer grower if:
• You are a rural landholder on an acreage
• You are a Landcare or environmental group
• You are willing to fully acknowledge the time and effort the volunteer is donating to you
• You are willing to contact your grower in December and maintain contact during the growing season
• You are willing to ensure you collect the plants at a time convenient to the volunteer
• You are willing to show your appreciation and thank the volunteer (some give a small gift as a token of their appreciation)
• You are willing to honour the volunteer’s efforts by promptly planting and caring for the plants they have grown for you (or return them to Trees For Life if you can’t)

Step 5: Make first contact with your grower in December to introduce yourself

Step 6: Call your volunteer grower in March to coordinate collection of the plants and discuss any back up requirements

Step 7: Collect your plants between April and June from your grower and demonstrate your appreciation for the time and resources they have donated to you

Step 8: Plant into prepared ground and protect your seedlings after opening rains

Step 9: Return your landholder feedback form to Trees For Life

Step 10: Manage your new plantings and plan next year’s plantings
