Bush For Life trains members of the community in bush management techniques - and you can help too!
Learn how to help restore and protect our bushland. Bush For Life volunteers work regularly to preserve our bushland and protect it from weeds that choke out native plants and destroy wildlife habitat.
26 plant, 23 mammals and two bird species have become extinct in South Australia with 1,000 more on the endangered list

An important motivation for Bush For Life volunteers is to prevent this vegetation from disappearing forever. This bushland is part of our natural heritage.
Working on a Bush For Life site is just one way of getting out into the great outdoors. The program operates predominately in the Greater Mount Lofty Ranges, which has 50% of its native birds either threatened or declining as a result of a loss of food, fragmentation of habitat and predation.
With over 90% of remnant vegetation in the southern Mt Lofty Ranges and Adelaide Plains cleared, anything left is of critical importance.
Bush For Life is at the forefront of on-ground action to try and halt the decline of our unique bushland. It empowers any able bodied person to make a significant contribution to the recovery of our bushland.
You don’t need to be an ecologist or have a university degree - Bush For Life provides training and ongoing support to volunteers.
