Birdwood

Located in the Adelaide Hills, this privately owned site was direct seeded in 2007 with 3 ha of the 9ha property being planted

This site lies directly adjacent Cromer Conservation Park, and the local provenance, multi-story revegetation will link the remnant vegetation of the park with other remnants on the property, providing increased natural habitat and corridors for the local wildlife.

2007 was the first year of plantings on this site while we anticipate being able to carry out further Carbon Neutral offset revegetation on the Bridwood property in the near future.

The direct seeding was conducted using the disc seeder, which is towed behind a four wheel drive and incorporates a chemical control for weeds. This machine is quite versatile and is mostly utilised in the moderate to high rainfall areas.

Revegetation across the 3ha site has been highly successful, with excellent species diversity present [individual row photo showing excellent germination and establishment - taken March 2009].
