Did You Know?

Trees For Life direct seeds approximately 500 kilometres of land each year from the low rainfall Murray Mallee through to the Mount Lofty Ranges.

Trees For Life places prime importance on provenance of seed – which is collecting seed from remnant vegetation close to the site targeted for direct seeding and then using this seed for the project.

Younger plants often provide good quality seed and being able to collect from direct seeded properties such as the one mentioned in this story, takes the pressure off existing remnant vegetation.
