Come & try a bush care activity first

Bush Action Team: come and try bushcare!

A practical way to help the land you love

Interested in finding out what bushcare involves? Join one of our fully supported,  friendly  Bush Action Team days and see for yourself if bushcare is for you.  Our long term bushcarers say once you’ve been out a few times you’ll be hooked!

Bushcare is not just planting trees; in fact it’s not about planting at all.  It’s about looking after the valuable remnants of native bushland we still have, and returning them to health. We work by  removing isolated weeds that compete with our native plants for space, food and water to encourage natural regeneration.

Bushcare Action Teams are suitable for anybody who is in general good health, there is no heavy work, but there is bending and squatting involved as well as walking a short distance to the site over uneven ground.  Activities run from 9:00am - 3:30pm onsite, with transport available from our office at Brooklyn Park (leaving 7.30 - 8am, returning approx. 5pm). There are designated pick up points along the way, generally at South Plympton, Flagstaff Hill, Unley Park or Elizabeth depending on which direction we are headed. Or you can meet us onsite. You are welcome to come for half a day if you wish, but you will need to organise your own transport.

For more information or to book into one of the Bush Action Teams (see dates below) call our Bush For Life Volunteer Coordinator on (08) 8406 0500 or email

No commitment, just come and see what we do

Days run from 9am – 3.30pm. Catch our bus from Brooklyn Park with pickup points, or meet us on site
